The route & permits
12 answersWhere it goes, what paper it needs, and how you reach the start.
No. Adi Kailash and Om Parvat are both inside India, in Pithoragarh district. You need an Inner Line Permit, applied for online on the district portal, which we arrange for you. Bring a government photo ID and passport-size photographs; the portal also lists a medical fitness certificate and a self-declaration affidavit.
They are two different mountains. Mount Kailash (the Kailash Mansarovar yatra) stands in Tibet: reaching it means Chinese permits, a long application and a route through another country. Adi Kailash stands entirely inside India, in Uttarakhand's Vyas valley: the same sacred form, a pyramid over its own lake at Parvati Sarovar, reached by a driven road from Pithoragarh with only an Inner Line Permit, which we arrange. No visa, no China, no lottery.
Adi Kailash rises to 6,191 m. Travellers do not climb it: the road reaches about 4,500 m at Jolingkong and over 5,000 m at Lipulekh, and the highest nights are at Gunji or Nabi, 3,200 to about 3,290 m, with an acclimatisation day built in and oxygen carried in the vehicles.
In the Vyas valley of Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand. The darshan is done at Jolingkong, beside Parvati Sarovar; Om Parvat is seen from Nabhidhang, a day away. The whole route is inside India.
4 to 6 days, depending on where you start: 4 days from Pithoragarh, 5 days from Haldwani and 6 days from Delhi. Every one of them reaches Jolingkong for Adi Kailash, Nabhidhang for Om Parvat and Lipulekh for the view of Mount Kailash, with the Inner Line Permit done on the way up.
Yes. Om Parvat is seen from Nabhidhang, which the road reaches from Gunji, and every Adi Kailash package we run drives there on its last day in the high valley. It needs the same Inner Line Permit as Adi Kailash, which we file for you.
On a clear day, when the authorities permit it. Lipulekh is a pass on India's border with Tibet, at the head of the Vyas valley in Pithoragarh district, over 5,000 m, and every Adi Kailash package we run drives there on the Om Parvat day: from Nabhidhang the road continues to the Kailash view point, where Mount Kailash comes into view from Indian soil. The Army and ITBP clear the route on the day; if they do not, the day still has Om Parvat and Kalapani.
Yes, the same Inner Line Permit as Adi Kailash: Om Parvat is in the same border valley. One permit covers both, and we file it before you arrive.
The border valleys need an Inner Line Permit, applied for online on the district portal and issued by the SDM's office at Dharchula. We file it before you arrive, not on the day. You bring a government photo ID and passport-size photographs, and the portal also lists a medical fitness certificate and a self-declaration affidavit.
Driven. The circuit is a road journey with short walks at the darshan points, so it is open to people who could not manage a Himalayan trek. Two of our trips include a day on foot: the Khaliya Top walk at Munsiyari, a morning a reasonably fit family can manage, and the day towards Panchachuli Base Camp on the Darma trip.
The nearest airport is Naini Saini at Pithoragarh, though its scheduled flights have come and gone; Pantnagar, on the plains near Haldwani, is the other. By road Tanakpur is the nearest railhead, and Kathgodam, beside Haldwani, the other. The Delhi packages start in Delhi and drive up. Whichever city your package names, pickup and drop-off are included from there.
The welcome is any faith, any passport, any reason. Permits for non-Indian nationals run through a different process than the Inner Line Permit, so write to us first and we will confirm what applies before you book anything.
Fitness, health & altitude
7 answersHow high it goes, who it suits, and what the doctor has to say.
Not physically, for most travellers: it is driven, with short walks at Jolingkong and Parvati Sarovar, and the highest night is at Gunji, 3,200 m. What it asks of you is altitude, and the plan is built around that: a gradual climb, an acclimatisation day and oxygen in the vehicles. If you have a heart or lung condition, tell us first.
For most, yes. The circuit is driven rather than trekked, and the highest nights are at Gunji or Nabi, 3,200 to about 3,290 m. We build in an acclimatisation day and carry oxygen. Tell us first about any heart, lung or blood-pressure condition, and we will tell you honestly if we have concerns.

The plan is built around it: the climb is gradual, an acclimatisation day is built in, and oxygen is carried in the vehicles. Tell your guide early if you feel a headache or breathlessness; the route has descents and rest built in, and we do not push past what the mountain allows.
Yes, for the permit: the district's permit portal lists a medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner and a self-declaration affidavit, with formats to download, so see your own doctor before you travel and check the portal for your dates. The altitude asks something of you anyway. Heart conditions, asthma, uncontrolled blood pressure or diabetes, pregnancy, or recent surgery: tell us first, and we will say honestly if we have concerns.
Munsiyari is the trip we recommend for families with children: lower, easier, with a real morning trek. For the high route, tell us the child's age and we will tell you honestly what we think. No separate child rate is published today.
Warm layers for every month, government photo ID for the permit checks, passport-size photographs, the medical fitness certificate and self-declaration affidavit the permit portal lists, any personal medication, and sturdy shoes. Nights above 3,000 m drop below freezing even in June.
Booking & payment
10 answersHow a seat is held, what the price covers, and what it does not.
Over WhatsApp. Send your dates and where you are travelling from; we come back with a route, one clear price in writing and the day-by-day plan. A seat is held with ₹5,000, with the receipt and batch confirmation the same day.
Transport for the full route, hotel and homestay accommodation, breakfast and dinner, a government-certified guide, Inner Line Permit assistance, and all driver allowance, toll and parking. Lunch and personal expenses are not included.
₹14,400 a person for 4 days from Haldwani and ₹20,400 a person for 5 days from Delhi, with transport, stays, breakfast and dinner, and local support included.
₹42,000 a person for 6 days from Pithoragarh, ₹50,000 a person for 6 days from Haldwani and ₹55,000 a person for 6 days from Delhi, one price with no tiers: the Tempo Traveller and the 4x4s in the valley, 5 nights' stay with three at Darma 360 in Dantu, every meal from Saturday lunch to Thursday lunch, a trip leader all week and a valley guide for the base camp.
Lunch and personal expenses, in every package. Everything else the page lists is in the price: stays, breakfast and dinner, transport for the full route, the certified guide on the Adi Kailash packages, and the permit work.
Adi Kailash & Om Parvat from Haldwani starts at ₹26,300 a person in Standard hotels with a shared vehicle; Homestays cost less, Premium rooms and a private vehicle more, and the price a person drops with every traveller you add, up to 25% off from 6 people. Every package page prints the full price for your party and date before you pay anything.
Payments go through Razorpay by UPI, card or netbanking, straight into the account of Adi Kailash Explore, never to a personal number, and the receipt is generated as you pay. The ₹5,000 a seat advance holds your seat; the balance is settled in writing closer to departure.
The price we write before you pay is the price you pay. Driver allowance, tolls and parking are already inside it, and the refund lines are written down before any money moves.
The advance is ₹5,000 a seat; how to pay it is confirmed in writing when we confirm your seats, and the balance is settled closer to departure, also in writing. No EMI plan is published today.
Earlier is safer: seats per departure are finite, and the permit is filed before you arrive. A seat holds with the advance, so the usual pattern is to hold the seat first and settle the details in writing.
Cancellations & changes
4 answersWhat happens when plans move, on your side or the mountain's.
Cancellation terms depend on how close to departure you are and on what has already been committed for permits and stays. We set those out in writing before you pay anything, so there is nothing to discover afterwards.
Usually, and it is worth asking before you cancel: permits and stays already committed are what limit a move. Whatever applies to you is confirmed in writing before anything is processed.
If the whole departure cannot run, you choose a full refund or another date. Days the road does not allow are not charged, and where a leg is cut we reroute within the same valley and tell you as soon as we know.
Refunds go back to the account you paid from, within 7 to 10 working days. The band that applies to your timing is on the refund policy, and it is confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
On the road
9 answersWeather, stays, food, safety and the people you travel with.
The Gunji road is weather-dependent and the authorities can close it at short notice. If a leg is cut, we reroute to the alternatives in the same valley and tell you the moment we know. We do not charge for the days we cannot run.
Yes. Transport for the full route is included from the departure city stated on this page, and you are dropped back to the same point at the end.
Not at the mountain itself. Nights in the high valley are in guest houses and homestays at Gunji or Nabhi; Jolingkong, beside Parvati Sarovar at the foot of the mountain, is reached at first light from there, and you are back the same night.
4 days from Haldwani and 5 days from Delhi: the two Munsiyari trips we run, each with the drive in both directions included.
Hotels and guest houses along the route, and in the Darma valley nights are homestays with Rung families. Breakfast and dinner are included everywhere; lunch on the road is yours.
Yes. Adi Kailash Explore is recognised by Uttarakhand Tourism, MSME-certified and NIDHI-verified, run from an office at Pitrota, near Thana Kotwali, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand 262501, with a named founder, Vinay Verma, who signs every confirmation. Every booking carries a booking ID and a proper invoice in the company's name.
The road is run by people who live on it: government-certified guides, drivers who have taken the Gunji road in every condition it offers, oxygen in the vehicles, and the same Pithoragarh team on your thread from enquiry to return. We say honestly what the mountain allows on a given day, and we do not push past it.
The guides answer in Hindi, English and Kumaoni. Nobody you deal with is a call centre; a message reaches the same people who meet you at the railhead.
Departures run May – November. The high road is weather-dependent inside that window and the authorities can close it at short notice; days we cannot run are not charged.
Groups & private departures
3 answersYour own dates, your own people, one price in writing.
Yes. Scheduled departures run on the main route; every package can also leave on your dates as your own group. Tell us the headcount and the month, and one price per person comes back in writing.
Send the shape of it: the valley, the headcount, where you start and the month. One price per person comes back in writing with the day plan, seats are held together with the advance, and the organiser keeps one thread until everyone is home.
Yes. The scheduled departures are shared groups, so a solo traveller joins one rather than paying for a vehicle alone. Rooms run 2 to 5 sharing, with private rooms available on request.
Creators
9 answersThe creator programme: your discount, what comes with it, and what it asks.
There are two ways in, and your follower count decides which. Every creator, at any count, gets a link of their own: 50 travellers who book through it earn a fully sponsored trip. From 20,000 followers you also get a discount on any package, now. You send your handle, your count and your plan from the creators page; we look at the account and send your link, and your code if you have one. You agree the plan with our team, travel with an editor and a guide, and after the trip we publish a post about you and feature you on the page.
It follows your follower count on the account you apply with: 15% from 20K, 40% from 60K, 50% from 100K and 100% from 1M, where 1M means the whole trip is on us. It applies to any package on the site. Instagram followers, YouTube subscribers and X followers all count.
Yes. You start with your own link, the same one every creator gets. Every traveller who books through it counts, travellers not bookings, so a family of four counts four: 10 travellers, merchandise and a feature; 25 travellers, half off a trip; 50 travellers, the whole trip, on us. Your code stays on their phone for 90 days and rides onto the booking ID, so nothing is tracked by hand. When your count passes 20,000, the discount opens as well.
Against your profile, before your code goes out. Where the platform lets us read the count, the creators page reads it as you type your handle; otherwise you type it and we check it by hand. We also look at what your account is about, because the trip is built around the story you tell.
A video editor from our team who supports your edit with the brand files, a guide beside you who knows where drones may not fly by the border and which locals will talk to your camera, our best car and our best stays, an official post about you on our blog, a place on the creators page, and Adi Kailash Explore merchandise made for creators.
Five things, fixed for every creator: UGC rights, ad rights, a collab post, use of our logo and the direction agreed with the team. On top of those you propose your own plan: what you will make, how much and when. Both are agreed with our team in writing before you travel, and we never ask you to say what is not so.
Yes, and it is planned differently from a creator trip: tell us the story, the crew and the month from the creators page, on WhatsApp or by email. We are from these valleys; we plan the shoot with you, with introductions in the villages, the crew's vehicles, stays and meals, the Inner Line Permit for each of you and the drone rules before you pack.
Yes. The gallery, the reels, the film and the brand files are cleared for creators in the programme, with credit, and our logo and promotional material come from the press kit. The one rule is the one we keep ourselves: the photograph is of the place it names.
No, and that is deliberate. Trade business runs through channel partners, with trade terms and a price sheet in writing; the partners page has the form. The creator programme is for people who make things for an audience.
Cancellation bands live on the refund policy; what every package includes is on the packages page.
Ask the Adi Kailash Explore team.
Not a call centre: the people who file the permits and drive the road read these themselves.
Written on your device, sent from your WhatsApp; nothing is stored here. Prefer email or a call at +91 76688 58311? Both reach the same desk.
