Overview
Adi Kailash is the second of the Panch Kailash and a near-mirror of Mount Kailash in Tibet — the same pyramid, the same sacred lake at its foot. Shiva and Parvati are said to have halted here on their way to be married. A day away stands Om Parvat, where snow settles into the rock to form a perfect ॐ. No Chinese visa. No China permit. Reachable by road.
Starting elsewhere? We also run Adi Kailash & Om Parvat from Haldwani in 5 days and from Pithoragarh in 4 days.

- Day 2
Pithoragarh → Gunji
Inner Line Permit issuance in the morning, then the drive to Gunji through Chialekh and Garbyang. Melting glaciers, waterfalls and snow-covered ridges the whole way. Keep a government photo ID on you: permits are checked en route.
Stay: Guest house / homestay, Gunji or NabhiMeals: Breakfast & dinner

Om Parvat, Lipulekh & return to Pithoragarh
Drive to Nabhidhang for Om Parvat: snow gathered in the rock in the shape of ॐ, with Nag Parvat on the way. Then Lipulekh, for the view of Mount Kailash when the authorities permit it on the day. Back through Kalapani for a group havan, the Kali Mandir and Vyas Gufa opposite, with Hanuman Parvat on the road, and the drive down to Pithoragarh.
Stay: Guest house, PithoragarhMeals: Breakfast & dinner
- Day 5
Pithoragarh temples
Sera Deval, the temple of Deval Samet, whose Shiva linga a Bam king is said to have brought from Nepal, and the Kamakhya Devi temple on the hill above the town. Afternoon free for the local markets.
Stay: Guest house, PithoragarhMeals: Breakfast & dinner
- Day 6
Jageshwar, Kainchi Dham → Delhi

Why travellers love it
No visa, no border
Adi Kailash and Om Parvat are both inside India. You need an Inner Line Permit, which we arrange — no Chinese visa, no China permit.
Driven, not trekked
The circuit is a road journey with short walks at the darshan points, so it is open to people who could not manage a Himalayan trek.
Local drivers
The Gunji road is weather-dependent and unforgiving. Ours is driven by people from Pithoragarh who have taken it in every condition it offers.
What's included
- Transportation for the full route
- Hotel & homestay accommodation
- Breakfast & dinner
- Government-certified guide
- Inner Line Permit assistance
- Driver allowance, toll & parking
Trek essentials
Mountain weather and the authorities both have a say in this route. Legs can be cut or rerouted at short notice, and we will tell you the moment we know — we do not charge for days we cannot run. Carry government photo ID for the permit checks, and warm layers whatever the month.
- Government photo ID
- Original + 2 photocopies (Aadhaar, passport or voter ID)
- Passport-size photographs
- 4, for the permit paperwork
- Prescriptions
- A copy, if you carry regular medication
- Booking confirmation
- Printed or on your phone
Eligibility
This is a driven circuit, not a trek, so the bar is far lower than the mountains suggest. What matters is altitude and how you are on the day — not how fast you can run.
- Age
- Children and older travellers both do this route. There is no number to clear — how you are on the day is what matters.
- Fitness
- No training needed. You are driven the whole way, and the walking is 2–7 km in total and optional.
- Altitude
- The route reaches over 5,000 m, and the climb is spread across days rather than done in one — which is what makes it manageable.
- Tell us first
- Heart conditions, asthma, uncontrolled blood pressure or diabetes, pregnancy, or recent surgery. We will say honestly if we have concerns.

FAQ
4 to 6 days, depending on where you start: 4 days from Pithoragarh, 5 days from Haldwani and 6 days from Delhi. Every one of them reaches Jolingkong for Adi Kailash, Nabhidhang for Om Parvat and Lipulekh for the view of Mount Kailash, with the Inner Line Permit done on the way up.
Not physically, for most travellers: it is driven, with short walks at Jolingkong and Parvati Sarovar, and the highest night is at Gunji, 3,200 m. What it asks of you is altitude, and the plan is built around that: a gradual climb, an acclimatisation day and oxygen in the vehicles. If you have a heart or lung condition, tell us first.
Yes. Om Parvat is seen from Nabhidhang, which the road reaches from Gunji, and every Adi Kailash package we run drives there on its last day in the high valley. It needs the same Inner Line Permit as Adi Kailash, which we file for you.
On a clear day, when the authorities permit it. Lipulekh is a pass on India's border with Tibet, at the head of the Vyas valley in Pithoragarh district, over 5,000 m, and every Adi Kailash package we run drives there on the Om Parvat day: from Nabhidhang the road continues to the Kailash view point, where Mount Kailash comes into view from Indian soil. The Army and ITBP clear the route on the day; if they do not, the day still has Om Parvat and Kalapani.
Warm layers for every month, government photo ID for the permit checks, passport-size photographs, the medical fitness certificate and self-declaration affidavit the permit portal lists, any personal medication, and sturdy shoes. Nights above 3,000 m drop below freezing even in June.
Yes. Transport for the full route is included from the departure city stated on this page, and you are dropped back to the same point at the end.
For most, yes. The circuit is driven rather than trekked and we build in an acclimatisation day. Tell us first about any heart, lung or blood-pressure condition, and we will tell you honestly if we have concerns.
The high roads are weather-dependent and the authorities can close them at short notice. If a leg is cut we reroute within the same valley and tell you as soon as we know. We do not charge for days we cannot run.
Booking is over WhatsApp: message us and we hold your dates against an advance. Cancellation is set out band by band under Cancellation terms above, and whatever applies to you is confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
